Music
Music is an important and vital aspect of worship and community at St. Andrew’s Church, Ottawa. Under the leadership of the Director of Music, Matthew Larkin, our worship is enhanced by the regular participation of the Choir and the St. Andrew's Ringers.
Organ
From our original organ in 1874, through careful maintenance and a new installation in 1987, the organ has remained central to our worship in music. Enjoyed each Sunday morning, as well as during frequent concerts and recitals, the Guilbault-Thérien organ is a gift we all enjoy. (A more detailed description is available here.)
The Choir
Members of St. Andrew’s Church Choir are inheritors of a distinguished tradition of music ministry and service. For well over a century, St. Andrew’s has rightfully been regarded as a place where excellence in sacred music is sought. Today’s choir is a four-part ensemble of twenty-five choristers, within which there are volunteer and stipendiary singers. Each Sunday during term time, the Choir presents two anthems, in addition to leading the congregational singing in hymns and Psalms. Occasional “holy day” offerings include special services for All Saints, Advent, Candlemas, Ash Wednesday, Tenebrae, and Ascension. New members with musical literacy and experience are welcome. Regular rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings.
Handbell Choir
The Belson’s Ringers (directed by Rosaline Lees) are a beginner handbell choir which practice on Monday evenings and the St.Andrew’s Ringers are a senior handbell choir (directed by Dominique Moreau) rehearse on Tuesday evenings. Our handbell choirs are a talented group of musicians but we also are a caring community of people who have a lot of fun together. We welcome new ringers to come out and give ringing a try anytime.

Junior Choir - On Hiatus
Practising each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. with our choir director, the junior choir takes part monthly in the Sunday morning worship services, as well as with special concerts at Christmas and Easter.
